New England Steamship Agents Inc. was founded on September 2, 1992, in upstate New York, by Diane Delory, President and Joel Constantino, V.P. Director of Operations. NESA Inc. is headquartered directly within the Port of Albany. The corporation was originally developed as agent representatives and supervisors of foreign flag vessels carrying breakbulk, liquid bulk, and dry cargos calling the upper Hudson River to the Port of Albany. Since our inception we have expanded our service region, North to Searsport Maine, West to the eastern Great Lakes, and as far south as Wilmington Delaware. The primary commodities managed are heavy lift project cargo, woodpulp and lumber, cocoa bean, bulk sugar, maize, red summer wheat, petroleum products, steel re-bar, plate, coils, and wind generation equipment with accessories. (Our customer base, to name a few, includes Jumbo Navigation, Big Lift Carriers, MST, Flinter BV, Norden A/S, Cosco, Atlantic Bulk, Olendorff, Rickmers Linie and BBC Chartering.)

ABOUT OUR OFFICERS

Diane Delory, President
Ms. Delory began her maritime career over 25 years ago as Operations Manager for Radix Group International Inc., a international steamship agency, customs brokerage and freight forwarding firm. Promoted to Regional Manager, a position in which Ms. Delory served until 1992when she co-founded New England Steamship Agents Inc.

Joel Constantino, V.P. / Director of Operations
From 1985 to 1992 Mr. Constantino held the position of export manager for DHL Worldwide, an international airfreight company. He was instrumental in developing the “Heavy-Lift Airfreight” Division for DHL locally. Within this realm he was introduced to ocean freight commodities and special projects, an interest he strongly pursued until partnering with Ms. Delory to launch the opening of New England Steamship Agents Inc. in 1992.

Pre-planning and supervising vessel cargo operations, U.S. government regulations and formalities, vessel agency representation, documentation, networking, communications and customer service.

Collectively Ms. Delory and Mr. Constantino bring over four decades of extensive maritime experience and an unblemished reputation of service excellence to the clients they serve.
