LOGISTIC
SERVICES PART 2
• MONITOR A.M.S. CARGO ENTRY
The automated manifested systems entry is mandatory for cargos 24 hours
prior to arrival U.S. waters. Once the A.M.S. Administrator is notified
of the cargo quantity, description and vessel name, NESA will include
the administrator in our updates to insure that most accurate information
will be available. Once the cargo is customs released, NESA will advise
the owners and request their approval for the steamship release. We will
then submit the release to the terminal operators and stevedores.
• SUBMIT ARRIVALS / DEPARTURES TO A.M.S.
NESA will submit arrival/departure details to the A.M.S. provider for
systems updates.
• COLLECTING ORIGINAL B/L’S &
FREIGHT
As a part of the NESA logistics package, our office will collect the endorsed
Original Bills of Lading for presentation to the master upon arrival and
collect freight to assure it’s receipt by the owners in prompt fashion
– avoiding delays to cargo operations.
• HUSBANDRY DURING PORT CALL
NESA will attend the vessel, supervise operations and accommodate the
requests of the master and crew. Our services include, but are not limited
to, U.S. Customs entrance and clearance of the vessel, arranging crew
changes, hotel accommodations, transportation, ships chandler, delivery
of cash or bonuses to master, ordering pilots, towing assistance, labor
(if required) and linesman. NESA will monitor fees and expenses, negotiating
the most cost effective rates.
• PROGRESS UPDATES – ETC – ETD
Once operations have commenced, NESA will stay in contact with the stevedores,
port captains, and vessel’s foreman to obtain figures and progress
reports, together with the remaining quantities, estimated times of completion
and departure.
